7 Really Easy Ways to Save Money at the Grocery Store

And none require buying anything day old or suspiciously on sale. In fact, a few simple shopping adjustments will really make a difference to your wallet. Here are my favorites:
1. Shop the Outer Aisles
In most markets you'll find the healthiest ingredients on the perimeter of the store—fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins including fish and chicken, and fat-free and low-fat dairy products. The inner aisles contain most of the processed foods, including soda, candy, chips, and snack foods. Aside from the fact that they contain empty calories, they also take a big (and unnecessary) bite from your food budget.
2. Buy in Bulk
Bulk items are usually cheaper. That’s because there’s no expensive packaging included, so those savings are passed directly on to you. You also have the freedom to choose how much or how little to buy. Best buys include whole grains, dried beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, and cereals. Some health food stores sell spices in bulk as well.
3. Go Seasonal
Out-of-season fruits and vegetables are sometimes imported, expensive, and often tasteless. Plan menus and choose recipes around what's currently in season. You’ll enjoy better flavor and lower prices anytime of year. (And yes, there is good in-season produce in late winter—citrus fruit, anyone?)
4. Shop Locally
Local grocers carry plenty of regional produce. Farmers’ markets are a great source for healthy bargains too.
Slash your spending even further by supplementing your produce purchases with homegrown items. If you don’t have space for a garden, you can at least grow your own herbs. Plant your favorites in small pots near the kitchen. Take a snip or two as needed.

Yes, it takes a little more time, but preparing a dish at home rather than picking up a pre-made version can save up to 50% or more. It also ensures your dish is healthier because you dictate the amount of oil or salt it contains. And best of all, this guarantees no hidden preservatives.

7. Load Up on Legumes
Beans and legumes offer a myriad of health benefits as diverse as their varieties. Black beans, garbanzos, pintos—they’re all excellent sources of fiber. They’re also rich in folic acid, calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, and antioxidants. The complex carbohydrates they contain provide steady energy that lasts well beyond mealtime. A stellar source of protein, legumes may be the biggest money saver of all, as they cost a fraction of the price of most animal proteins.

10 Ways to feed your family for $100 a week!

With planning and a little more time in the kitchen, you can stick to your budget without sacrificing taste or nutrition. Here are 10 tips that can help you feed your family for about a hundred bucks a week.
1. Plan in Advance

Create the week's menu, but leave some room for flexibility. The most important step in sticking to a weekly budget is to come up with a plan for every meal, snack, and beverage you'll need for 7 days. Make sure you account for every item you put in your cart. This will keep you from adding expensive impulse buys that may go to waste.

2. Steer Clear of Convenience

Check your grocery store's weekly circular for discounts and coupons. These specials can be a starting point to plan your meals for the week. Foods packaged for convenience, such as individually boxed raisins, juice, and yogurt, are a no-no for those on a tight budget, says nutritionist Elizabeth Somer, RD, author of 10 Habits That Mess Up a Woman's Diet. Ditto for those 100-calorie packs of cookies. Marinate your own meat instead of buying the premarinated, packaged kind. Swap out those milk or juice boxes in your child's lunch for a Thermos. These options are all less expensive, and the reduction in packaging is better for the environment.

3. Be Brand Blind

If the peanut butter you usually buy is not on sale, but its competitor is, go for the cheaper one. Being flexible with brands lets you score the best deals. Be open to store brands as well. They’re typically the least expensive option for most canned, packaged, and frozen foods and usually taste just as good as their brand-name counterparts.

4. Use Coupons...Wisely - Click coupon links to the left in sidebar

Manufacturers put out 285 billion coupons last year, according to coupon processor NCH, but only a fraction of them are worth using. Many may lead you to purchase unnecessary—and often unhealthy—items loaded with artificial colors, preservatives, and sugar. Your best bet is to use coupons for household staples like beans, yogurt, spaghetti sauce, and pasta. Some of the best coupons can be found for vitamins, cleaning products, laundry detergent, and toiletries such as toothpaste, she says.

5. Consider Your Alternatives

Although that big grocery store may be the most convenient place to shop, it's not necessarily the cheapest. Check out ethnic markets, bag-your-own-warehouses, and farmers’ markets, which can often yield better buys on produce, meat, eggs, milk, and fish. Don't rule out deals at a drugstore, either. With reward cards and coupons, you can often score big deals on cereal, granola bars, and beverages.

6. Don't Dismiss the Deep Freeze

When certain fruits or vegetables move out of season or go up in price, consider buying bags of inexpensive frozen produce instead. Growers flash freeze their harvest at its peak, which locks in most of the nutrients. Plus, there's the bonus of not having to wash, peel, or chop them yourself. Frozen veggies make quick, convenient additions to soups and stews, pasta, or rice dishes.

7. Put On Your Apron

One of the easiest ways to eat well on a tight budget is to make some ingredients yourself. If you have a bread maker buried at the bottom of a cabinet, haul it out, and you can cut at least $3 from your budget for each store-bought loaf. Likewise, making your own juice ice pops, salad dressing, hummus, granola, and desserts can shave money off the bottom line without making you feel deprived.

8. Become a Flexitarian

One of the healthiest ways to save money is to swap meat for beans as your protein source a few meals a week. Packed with high amounts of protein, fiber, and antioxidants, beans are one of the healthiest foods out there. They are also one of the cheapest items in the grocery store, especially if you buy them dry and soak and cook them yourself. Try them in burritos, soups, chili, and salads.

Cutting back on meat is not just good for your wallet, it's good for your health as well. Most Americans far exceed the recommended meat and protein allowances for our diet, and with that meat can come unwanted saturated fat.

9. Leftovers Again!

Use last night’s dinner to make tonight’s meal—one of the easiest ways to cut your grocery bill is simply by reducing the amount of food you throw out. Leftover meat can become a base for soup or stew for the next night's dinner. Or serve it on whole grain bread for lunch the next day. Extra vegetables can be paired with eggs to make a frittata or added to tofu for a stir-fry dinner.

Store leftovers in clear containers where you can see them to keep them top of mind—and out of the trash. If the fresh fruit or vegetables in your crisper are in danger of going bad, chop them and freeze for later.

10. Go Less and Buy More

Make fewer trips and buy more of the basics

The fewer times you go to the market, the fewer opportunities there are to fill your cart with impulse buys. Stick to your list and buy a little bit more than you think you need of the basics like milk, bread, and fruit. Most people underestimate how much they will use over the course of a week, say experts.

Chushah l’ezrati - Make haste to help me!

OFTEN THE ONLY PRAYER we have is "Help!" I use this one on a daily basis, that is, whenever I am confronted with the truth of my condition.
The word translated "hasten" comes from the Hebrew word "chush," which means to hurry,
to act quickly, or to come quickly. The Psalms often plead urgently, "hasten to help
me" (chushah l’ezrati).

An old Jewish prayer says, "O ETERNAL, I know that you will help us; but will you help us before you will help us?"

Although the ETERNAL sometime tarries, He declares, "I am SOVERIEGN; in its time I will hasten
it" (Isa. 60:22). But still the anxious heart sighs, “Is it time, ETERNAL? Will you now restore
the kingdom to Israel?” But as Yahushua said, "It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority" (Acts 1:6-7). We are left waiting for the ultimate Elohim’s answer: His glorious coming to fulfill our salvation.
Living in the “already-not-yet” state of redemption is a soul-building venture that helps us
to acquire the precious middah (quality) of patience:

"In your patience possess ye your souls" (Luke 21:19).

Suffering produces endurance (Rom. 5:3), but the ETERNAL surely is faithful "to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding
joy" (Jude 1:24). May He come speedily, and in our day. Omein.

Morning Prayer - Modeh Ani

When we wake in the morning, YHWH graciously restores our soul (neshamah or nefesh) within us in order to experience another day of life. This awakening is an analog of the resurrection from the dead:
Just as YHWH revives us from the depths of our sleep and enables our eyes to once again receive light, so will He ultimately revive the dead from their state and bring them into the glorious presence of His Light. The Modeh Ani, one of the first blessings a Jewish child is taught, expresses gratitude to YHWH for the gift of a new day of life.

Modeh ani l’faneykha, melech chai vekaiyam,
shehechezarta bi nishmati bechemlah, rabbah emunatekha.

I thank you, living and eternal King,
for returning my soul within me in compassion,
great is your faithfulness.

Shabbat Shalom Mishpochah!

Co-op offers Passover foods

Many  Jews find it challenging to prepare meals for the Passover holiday, beginning March 29, because of the temporary dietary restrictions Passover creates.
Last year members of the Chapel Hill Kehillah Synagogue found a solution, and they are bringing it back with their second annual "Passover Ko-oP."
They have worked with national vendors to bring a wide variety of reasonably priced Passover items to the Triangle while helping needy families and raising money for their religious school.
For a Ko-oP joining fee that is 18 percent of the order up to $36, community members can select kosher Passover items from a catalog featuring a variety of candies, desserts, matzo, teas, cake mixes, jams, gefilte fish and wine. Most are below retail price.
Included on the order form is an option to donate a basket of Passover food or a monetary amount to a needy Jewish family through Jewish Family Services of Durham-Chapel Hill or Jewish Family Services of Raleigh-Cary. Every year, both organizations distribute Passover baskets to local families so that everyone will be able to celebrate the holiday.
Friday is the deadline for placing orders that can be picked up March 21.
The reason Passover food is different from all other foods lies in the story of the biblical exodus of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. Because they had so little time to prepare for their leaving, bread had no time to rise, resulting in a flat, crackerlike food called matzo. To commemorate the eight-day festival of Passover, Jews eat matzo and avoid leavened foods, grains and other foods that have historically been used to make bread products.
These temporary dietary restrictions leave  Jews searching for special food for the holiday.

Whole Wheat Matzo

Look what I found!  Whole Foods Market Kosher for Pesach-
Whole Foods Market grocery and meat purchasing teams have been hard at work making our stores a Passover destination. We know that many of our customers are looking for kosher for Passover products that meet our strict quality standards for packaged foods that are free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners and hydrogenated fats. We also know you are looking for kosher poultry that weren’t given antibiotics in their feed and were raised with plenty of room to roam around. Meeting all of these requirements can be quite a challenge, but we persevered and made it happen for you!

Did you know that many kosher suppliers still use artificial preservatives and other ingredients that we do not allow in our products? Our grocery buyers partnered with kosher food producers to help them reformulate their products and then our stores and customers provide a market for their natural products. In December, we blogged about our partnership with Streit’s, the only family owned and operated Matzo producer in the U.S, who have now removed the artificial additives and preservatives from many of their products. Our partnership with Streit’s is having a nice ripple effect on the kosher food industry as a whole. Andrew Lansman, head of kosher distributor A&L Foods, says: “Five years ago, kosher manufacturers didn’t even care about being all natural. Now, most are trying to reformulate their product line so they can be all natural. Many new items have been developed because of Whole Foods Market’s influence, including many whole grain and organic products.”

Are you Smarter than a 10 year old Passover Dilemma

Pesach and Diabetes - What to Do?

Pesach (Passover) is coming and I was  so sure that it will be impossible to get through the very popular matzo, potato and egg holiday.I have decided to start looking for solutions and substitutions for traditional ingredients. Living a Torah Observant lifestyle does not have to mean living unhealthy—in fact, quite the opposite. We have a Torah commandment to "take very good care of ourselves" (Deuteronomy 4:15).  We do not live the life that was lived one hundred years ago so we cannot expect to get away with eating many of the foods that they ate—most of theirs got worked off throughout the day—we hardly move and our present day foods are terribly refined.

Our eating requirements are intimately bound up with our religion, culture, and ethnic identity. Food is the focus of Passover, especially the Seder, which is the ceremonial meal eaten on the first two nights of Passover to commemorate the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. The issues at Passover for people with diabetes are the amounts and different foods and the change in schedule, eating late at night. A Torah Observant person with diabetes needs to learn how to navigate their way through all these eating opportunities, and stay in control of their blood sugar levels.
Go and try to explain to a doctor why you absolutely have to have 4 cups of wine at one meal and a given amount of matzah. Do you know what havoc FOUR CUPS of WINE will do to a diabetics glucose levels?

Not to mention the Matzah that we must eat throughout the 7 days of the feast. OH MY, what a challendge! But Elohim is merciful and I am on a quest to find the healthy alternatives that my family and I will use this year. I will post my finds for you to enjoy.

Diabetes attacked my family!

Recently my husband fell very, very ill. We did not know what was wrong with him. Brother B (as he is affectionately known) is a Personal Fitness Trainer, who exercises daily and has always been in great shape. Never sick with anything more than an occasional cold or maybe sinus problem, he is a picture of health. Over the past few months he had gained weight, but no one thought anything about it.
Then, it began... He was feeling tire and excessively thirsty. His appetite went away and he lost 30 pounds in about two weeks. There was a foul odor on his breathe and my wonderful mother decided to come over and take his blood glucose level. It was over 600! We went to the doctor the next morning and of course, it was the Big "D" - Type 1 Diabetes.
He was put on four insulin shots per day and an oral medication. His diet had to change and all the family as well. It took two weeks after the initial diagnosis to regain a sense of normalcy and to balance his glucose level.
All "white" foods had to be iliminated, including our weekly Shabbat Challah! Oh my, what that did to our Torah observant, shabbat keeping, bread eating family. I went on a quest to find an alternative whole wheat Challah that I could make in my bread machine. HalleluYAH, I found an alternative.
All of our pasta is now whole wheat and we love it. My children enjoy eating in our new manner and I feel as if I am giving everyone the best that I can. The Torah gives us a blue print for healthy eating and I am following it.
In my research I found several natural herbs that are historically used for the treatment of diabetes. Gymnema Sylvestre is the one that I started my husband on immediately and now he is down to one insulin shot per day. I say Todah to YHWH daily for His mercy and insight into the herbs of the field.

(Psa 104:14) He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

A Closer Look at Herbs!

Herbs can be classified in one or more of four basic categories, depending on the compounds they contain and the properties they possess. Unique compounds in herbs have the ability to stimulate or alter body processes. These compounds can influence things like circulation, metabolism, digestion, excretion and fluid regulation.

Four Catagories of Herbs

Aromatics
Aromatic herbs are generally activating. They contain volatile oils that evaporate in the presence of heat. Volatile oils give plants a characteristic odor and taste. Many volatile oils are used in aromatherapy to benefit the body's emotional and physical needs. Upon evaporation, these oils stimulate the central nervous system via taste and smell. This stimulus signals the digestive tract to begin secreting digestive enzymes, hormones and hydrochloric acid. Aromatic herbs can also enhance circulation and help build secretions from mucus membranes.
Aromatics can be subdivided according to their stimulating and relaxing properties. Stimulating aromatics such as capsicum, ginger and horseradish are warming and energizing; they generally stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, which responds to stress stimuli. Relaxing aromatics like peppermint, valerian and chamomile are soothing and calming; they tend to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which counteracts the sympathetic nervous system.

Remember*
Essential oils should NOT be taken internally! Essential oils can be inhaled, diffused and used in other external preparations when properly diluted.

Some Aromatics Herbs are:
*ginger *valerain
*garlic *chamomile
*horseradish *yarrow
Category 2 Mucilants coming on next post...

Should Believers go to Doctors?

Physicians are referred to about a dozen times throughout the Bible. The only verse that could be taken out of context to teach that one should not go to physicians would be 2 Chronicles 16:12.

"In the thirtyninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the YHWH, but only from the physicians."

But this particular case involved Asa's whole outlook on life in his later years (that of turning his back on Elohim at an earlier point in his life). His sin? NO trust in YHWH. TOTAL trust in doctors. Lack of balance!!! Are your medical views in, or out of balance, one way or the other?

There are many verses that speak of using "medical treatments" such as applying bandages (Isaiah 1:6), oil (James 5:14), oil and wine (Luke 10:34), leaves (Ezekiel 47:12), wine (1 Timothy 5:23), and salves, particularly the "balm of Gilead" (Jeremiah 8:22). Also Luke, the author of Acts and the Gospel of Luke, is referred to by Paul as "the beloved physician" (Colossians 4:14). If visiting doctors was somehow sinful, Rav Shaul would not have travelled with Luke and had him as a ministry partner!

Mark 5:25-30 relates the story of a woman who had trouble with continual bleeding, a problem that physicians could not heal even though she had been to many of them and had spent all of her money on them. Coming to Yahshua, she thought to herself that if she but touched the hem of His garment/His tzitzit, she would be healed, and she was. Yahshua never rebuked her for visiting doctors all her life! Yahshua, in answering the questioning Pharisees as to why he spent time with sinners said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick" (Matthew 9:12). Yahshua clearly recognizes the need and validity of doctors, comparing the physical realm’s need for doctors’, with the spiritual realm’s need for HIMSELF as THE Spiritual Healer of all of mankind! Moreover based on Matthew 9:12 we see that:

1) Physicians are not Elohim and should not be viewed as such. They sometimes can help, but there will be other times when all they will accomplish is the removal of money.
2) Seeking physicians and using "earthly" remedies are not condemned in Scripture, but rather seem to have been used throughout Scripture.
3) Elohim's intervention in any physical difficulty should be sought (James 4:2; 5:13). He does not promise us that He will answer the way we will always want (Isaiah 55:8-9), but we have the assurance that all He does will be done in love and thus in our best interest (Psalm 145:8-9).

So, should Nazarene Yisraelites go to doctors? Elohim created us as intelligent beings and gave us the ability to create medicines and learn how to repair our bodies. There is nothing wrong with applying this knowledge and ability towards physical healing. Doctors can be viewed as Elohim’s gift to us, a means through which Elohim brings healing and recovery. At the same time, our ultimate faith and trust is to be in Yahweh, not doctors or medicine. As with all the difficult decisions we face in life, Elohim promises to give us wisdom when we ask for it (James 1:5), so we know how to pursue all available venues of healing.

Bless YHVH O My Soul!

Bless YHWH, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.

Bless YHWH, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;

Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

YHWH executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moshe, His acts unto the children of Israel.

YHWH is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Like as a father has compassion upon his children, so YHWH is compassionate to them that fear Him.

For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him,

and his righteousness unto children's children;

To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

YHWH has prepared His throne in the heavens; and His Kingdom rules over all.

Bless YHWH, you His angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments,

hearkening unto the Voice of his Word.

Bless ye YHWH, all you his hosts; you ministers of His, that do His pleasure.

Bless YHWH, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless YHWH, O my soul.

Soups That Heal!

Chicken soup

Chicken soup is a favourite healing soup all over the world. It has often been called Jewish penicillin and scientists have spent time and money examining the actions of chicken soup on colds and flu. It’s no surprise that they’ve found evidence of the way chicken soup combats the symptoms of a cold. Dr Stephen Rennard, a US pulmonary specialist, tested various chicken soups, from a traditional, home made soup, to a number of commercial varieties, in the laboratory. He found that the soups had anti-inflammatory properties that helped sore throats and helped stop the movement of neutrophils (white blood cells that encourage the flow of mucus that accumulates in the lungs and nose). So grandmother was right all along!

No wonder chicken soup is a fabled remedy for colds: It contains druglike agents similar to those in modern cold medicines, says Irwin Ziment, M.D., pulmonary specialist and professor at the UCLA School of Medicine. For example, cysteine, an amino acid released from chicken in cooking, chemically resembles the drug acetylcysteine, prescribed for bronchitis and other respiratory problems. Pungent ingredients often added to chicken soup, such as garlic, cayenne pepper and curry spices, all are ancient treatments for respiratory diseases. They work the same way as expectorant drugs and cough medicines, thinning mucus and making breathing easier. The more garlic and hot spices added to chicken soup, Ziment says, the better the soup will be at clearing your lungs.

USA Weekend

Tomato soup

Our family favourite for colds was tomato soup. Of course it helps to come from a tomato growing region - or in your back yard or patio garden. Made with a base of chicken stock, add tomatoes, onions, garlic and basil or oregano, all home grown. The soup is rich, thick and savoury. It’s still one of my favourite soups today. And what a glorious soup it is too. A wonderful sight as it comes to the table with a sprinkling of fresh oregano over the top, looking like chips of emerald against the ruby colour of the tomatoes. Truly, it’s a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth.

The tomatoes in my soup are full of lycopene and vitamin C, both are antioxidants. Onions and garlic are very common ingredients in soup and are well known for their anti-bacterial and anti-viral effects. Onions contain quercetin, a formidable antioxidant with wide-ranging activity. Studies show that quercetin is anti-cancer, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Garlic is very active against bacteria, so active that the blood of garlic eaters can kill bacteria. It helps lower blood pressure, prevent blood clots, reduce atherosclerotic buildup, is active against yeasts, prevents cancer, removes heavy metals such as lead and mercury from the body, has anti-oxidant properties and is a source of selenium. The primary ingredients in Oregano, thymol and carvacrol (which are also found in thyme), help loosen phlegm in the lungs and relieve spasms in the bronchial passages. Many commercial cough remedies, including cough drops and skin rubs such as Vicks VapoRub, contain thymol.
No wonder it did us good!

Torah and Healing!

No matter how sick you may be, YHWH can heal you. We need to listen and obey His instructions. After that, have faith in Him and He will take care of the rest! The same way YHWH freed the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt, He can free us from our sicknesses. This week's story proves, once again, the amazing healing power of YHWH if we seek His guide and obey His words. People are rejecting His message because more people than ever before are dying from deadly diseases, despite all the money and resources we have today for research of disease. They can look all they want for a cure, but until they follow YHWH's instructions, they will not find the cure they are looking for. This week's study is just a great example to prove that.

Many people ask, if YHWH is such a loving Elohim, why do we suffer? We are told in

Isaiah 24:5:

The Earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted YHWH's instructions, violated his law, and broken His everlasting covenant.

YHWH has given us many signs to prove He has more power than any other source to heal us of all our diseases. But people are deceived to believe that doctors can do a better job. Or even worse, that there are other gods out there that can match YHWH's healing power. These ideas are misleading and dangerous.

In the story this week, many of Pharaoh's sorcerers were able to duplicate Moses' miracles. This may seem that all powers are equal. It can be very deceiving to the human understanding that all higher powers have the same power. If YHWH is the ultimate power, how were the sorcerers of Pharaoh able to duplicate some of Moses' miracles? Some used trickery or illusion, but many times people call on satanic powers. Worshiping other elohim (gods) other than YHWH, gods of the underworld, was part of their religion. But if they really had the power YHWH does, they would have reversed the plagues, not added to them.

Just like Pharaoh rejecting YHWH's powers, so did the people of Israel who were in captivity. YHWH not only gave the signs for Pharaoh to reveal that he is almighty, but he also gave the signs to the Children of Israel so they also understood His power. We see in last week's study how they also rejected YHWH's message via Moses. Finally they came around and showed some faith, but once they got into the desert and out of Egypt, their hearts became just a stubborn as Pharaoh's heart. They were shown time after time YHWH's mighty power, but still refused the message as soon as something didn't go according to their liking or understanding.

There are many different gods in the world, but only one Creator and His name is YHWH. During the times of Moses, there were many different nations praying to these other gods of the world and it caused them great hardship. Even the people of Israel, who YHWH rescued out of Egypt, prayed to idols and because of it, only two of them entered the "promised land." These other gods may seem to bring temporary relief, but only YHWH saves, heals and delivers.

Remember last week's message, we saw how YWHH saves, heals and delivers. Even after the transgressions and iniquities. People are afflicted, but we will see in future studies how every time the people didn't keep their promise or covenant with YHWH they were afflicted, but when they repented, YHWH rescued them.

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their being despises all manner of food; and they draw near to the gates of death. Then they cry to YHWH in their trouble; and He saves them out of their distresses. He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Psalms 107:17-20

YHWH gave Pharaoh and the children of Israel many opportunities to heed Moses' warnings. But finally YHWH seemed to say, "All right, have it your way," and Pharaoh's heart became permanently hardened, as did the children of Israel in the desert. After a lifetime of resisting YHWH, you may find it impossible to turn to him. Don't wait until just the right time before turning to YWHH. Do it now while you still have the chance. If you continually ignore YHWH's voice, eventually you will be unable to hear it at all.

People want to see and experience YHWH's healing miracles before believing in Him. YHWH sent the greatest miracle of all, His son Yeshua. Yeshua means, YAH's-salvation. Still many people don't get it. They are stuck in the pleasures of this world and would rather live with sickness than to come around and realize that there is no better way than putting our trust and faith in Yeshua. What are you going to do, continue to harden your hearts or come around and believe in Yeshua?

It is better to trust in YHWH than to put confidence in man.

-Psalms 118-8

Create a healthy digestive system

Today’s fast paced lifestyles often don’t leave time for peaceful mealtimes or even well-balanced nutrition. When your digestive system isn’t working well, you don’t feel your best. Research shows that a healthy digestive system supports short-term well-being and long-term health. When you eat foods, they are not in a form that the body can use as nourishment. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before they can be absorbed into the blood and carried to cells throughout the body. Digestion is the process by which food and drink are broken down into their smallest parts so the body can use them to build and nourish cells and to provide energy.

Signs of Healthy Digestions
In fact, a healthy digestive system offers:
• Improved regularity
• Support for healthy bowel function
• Relief from occasional mild constipation, gas, diarrhea, and bloating
• Freedom from occasional heartburn and occasional acid indigestion
• Ease of upset stomach
• Improved sense of well-being
• Better overall health

Poor Digestion Factors
Possible causes of maldigestion are bad food choices, anxiety, stress, enzyme deficiency, and many others. Junk food, for instance, irritates the digestive organs and reduces digestive speed and efficiency. Research indicates that today most people have weak digestion, resulting in fatigue, lowered immunity, and increased physical discomfort.
